Point Realty has been on Lido Boulevard since 1958. Three generations of the same family have held the broker's licence, and the firm has sold a good many of the same houses two and three times over — trusted again and again by repeat clients.

Three generations
Rosemary Gomez was a professor at Brooklyn College and the mother of seven children. She started Point Realty in 1958 because her friends and neighbours needed help buying and selling houses. She kept helping friends, families and new clients for the rest of her long, full life, and the community loved her as head of the Bridge Club.
Rosemary's son Paul A. Gomez took over the business from her and worked in the company for his whole life.
He started as a child, doing property management for local landlords, and went on to set records in Point Lookout, Lido Beach and Long Beach in several sales categories.
Paul J. Gomez is the third generation to hold the broker's licence, and he runs the firm today from 24A Lido Blvd.

Two storefronts
The first office was next to the firehouse on Lido Boulevard, in the storefront a tax business occupies now. Later Point Realty moved a few doors down to our current location at 24A Lido Blvd, the former Point Gardening Center.
Point Realty has been a constant fixture on the town's boulevard, offering a constant source of local knowledge and assistance for its residents. The brick-and-mortar storefront has also been a unique asset to the brokerage, giving its clients prime advertising real estate and a constant source of new walk-in leads.
The place
Point Lookout is the east end of the Long Beach barrier island: Reynolds Channel to the north, Jones Inlet and Jones Beach to the east, the Atlantic to the south, Lido Beach to the west. It has been settled three times — a resort hotel in 1881 that a hurricane and a fire took away, a leased-lot bungalow colony called Nassau-by-the-Sea that burned in 1918, and the hamlet laid out on sandy streets in 1928 that is still here.
There is one traffic light. There is a real post office, a 15 mile per hour speed limit and no on-street parking on the residential streets. 1,527 people live in 823 houses on about a quarter of a square mile.
We keep a full sourced history of the place — the whalers' lookout, the marine railroad, the jetty that stopped the inlet, the houses that were moved and the ones that were not.

How we work
We sell in Point Lookout, Lido Beach and the Long Beach West End. Most of what we do is local and quiet: an owner calls before the sign goes up, a buyer who has rented here for five summers finally finds the house, an estate needs a valuation and a plan.
